THE ROVER From Brian |

I am not one of the lucky few who got to see Zep last night, but if reports are anything to go by, they went down a storm, and I agree with the reviewer who said it would be cosmically perverse if Zep do not decide to do a tour now.
This is if only since ,if they leave it another few years, they will simply be too old and the world could see only a sad epitaph of a once outstanding band.
Led Zeppelin should take the bull by the horns and go for it,on the strength of their apparently superb performance last night, and the ticket sellers and at least the Daily Star seem to think that a tour is on the cards.
Watch this space and hold on to your pennies folks!
Another thing is what about a STUDIO ALBUM?????
Is it just a rumor about a piece called Swan Song ,that Page is said to have been working on for years? Or is there more to it than this? If it exists, surely it should take it's place on any new album that Zep put together!
yours,
Brian

From ROSS HALFIN's website:
Dave Grohl tells it like it is... Sir, Just wanted to thank you for being so accommodating to me and my cast of nerds the other night. It was an epic night, to say the least. Arriving at 10 am that morning, sleeping for three hours, heading to the bottle shop for refreshments to take with in the van, pissing like a Clydesdale upon arrival to the gig, and then the mighty Zeppelin. Highlights: For Your Life. Maybe my favorite song of the night, except for Kashmir, which was beyond spot on. The dry ice machine. Black Dog. Like they never stopped playing it. Asking Marilyn Manson if I can give him a hickey. "No". Asking his girlfriend if I can give her a hickey. "Sure!" To which Marilyn replied "No". Not understanding one fucking word that Liam Gallagher said to me. Steve Gorman. A good guy. Peter Mench being nice to me. Sign of the apocalypse? Perhaps. The entire 2 hours that the band performed. Without sounding like a cunt, I had waited to see that my whole life, and it did not disappoint. Of course, I had always dreamed about being behind that drum set, but the sheer thrill of being there overcame any envy that I may have had. Jason was fucking great. Face it, he had people like me, Chad Smith, and Steve Gorman watching his every move, all night long, and afterwards we all agreed that he played great. Just three jealous drummers, drinking away our life long dreams of one day jamming with the greatest rock band of all time. Fucking pathetic, we were......... Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for including us in everything. It meant the world to me. Congratulate the boys for me. Hope they take this circus on the road. If there's an opening for drum tech, you know my number. Dave |

Hey guys, just a thread to say, that yes as we all predicted they are realising a DVD on Monday's reunion gig, not sure when but it'll be sooner rather than later i think, which is a great thing, the gig has got great reviews so far and i think i'll be special to see the gig that 20million people tryed to get tickets for. hope it looks good on dvd
the setlist from the night was:
The Song Remains The Same DVD Intro Tape, “beating the bettles”
From The Album 'Good Times Bad Times' 1 'Ramble On' 2 'Black Dog' 4 Plant, “Good evening” 'In My Time Of Dying' Physical Graffiti 'For Your Life' Presence 'Trampled Under Foot' Physical Graffiti 'Nobody's Fault But Mine' Presence 'No Quarter' House Of The Holy 'Since I've Been Loving You' 3 'Dazed And Confused' 1 Plant, “On guitar Jimmy Page” 'Stairway To Heaven' 4 Plant "Ahmet, we did it!" 'The Song Remains The Same' House Of The Holy 'Misty Mountain Hop' 4 'Kashmir' Physical Graffiti
'Whole Lotta Love' 2 'Rock And Roll' 4
The setlist was a good mix of the zep back catalog but it was too focused on the newer albums like presence and graffiti, would have liked to see Heartbreaker, Communication Breakdown and the Immigrant Song on the setlist but hey it's still and amazing effort from the guys that haven't played together in so long. Kashmir and Stairway were apparently the best tracks live of the night according to fan's reactions etc so should be good to see this stuff and plus having doing a few songs for the first time live it always makes this gig extra special, hope to see the dvd in stores soon.

No Led Zeppelin Tour After London Show, Robert Plant Says
Statement comes just days after Dave Grohl offered his drumming services for a Zep tour.
By Chris Harris, with additional reporting by Jem Aswad
Ever since the three living members of Led Zeppelin confirmed earlier this month that they'll be reuniting for a gig at the O2 Arena in London on November 26, the rumor mill has been rife with speculation that the band — frontman Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones, with Jason Bonham filling in on drums for his late father, John — would follow the appearance with a full-blown tour.
But that won't be happening, Plant told British music mag Uncut.
He told the mag that November's concert — in honor of Ahmet Ertegun, who signed the band to Atlantic Records in 1969 and died last year at the age of 83 (see "Atlantic Records Co-Founder Ahmet Ertegun Dies") — will be a one-time deal: "There'll be one show and that'll be it," he's quoted as saying. The benefit concert will also feature performances by other Atlantic artists past and present, including Who's Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, Paolo Nutini and Foreigner.
"We need to do one last great show because we've done some shows and they've been crap," Plant said.
The group disbanded after John Bonham's death from alcohol poisoning in 1980. Plant, Page and Jones performed at Live Aid in 1985 (with Phil Collins and Chic's Tony Thompson tag-teaming on drums) and at the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary show in 1988 with Jason Bonham; they also performed at Jason's wedding. Page and Plant joined forces for two albums and a world tour in the mid-'90s and have performed together sporadically over the years.
However, Plant asserted that there will be no tour after the forthcoming show. "Not for me," he told the mag. "But I can't speak for anyone else."
The singer said he's actually looking forward to bringing his music career to a close. "I know I'm getting on," he said. "When I do come back from touring, I'm shocked to find a lot of my mates tend to be going to bed far too early, and that means I should probably be doing the same. Maybe I should stop having a good time and get old." The singer recently collaborated with bluegrass artist Alison Krauss on an album called Raising Sand, which comes out next month.
Plant's comments came just days after Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl apparently volunteered his services for just such a tour. After saying that he plans to sneak his way into the long-sold-out London show, the former Nirvana drummer added that he wouldn't mind manning the kit for Zep if needed.
"[I am] at their beck and call," he told British music weekly the New Musical Express, adding that if he were asked to play with the Zeppelin, "What the f--- do you think I'd be saying? I'd say, 'Hey [Foo Fighters bandmates] Chris [Shiflett] and Taylor [Hawkins], let's take a little break for a few days, I'll see ya later!' But I don't expect that to happen."
Grohl further acknowledged that Jason Bonham is the perfect choice to replace his father: "Jason should be the one. Everyone knows that. He's a f---ing phenomenal drummer."
Grohl's publicist did not confirm the NME quotes specifically, but noted that he's heard the drummer express great enthusiasm at the prospect of playing with Zeppelin. |

I think this is an older article, it still says Nov. 26th was the day the reunion would happen.
What if he had a change of heart after the amazing show a couple nights ago?

Good news for the millions of people who want to go to the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert on Monday, but aren't able to - the event will be recorded for a DVD release. The show, which pays tribute to the Atlantic Records co-founder, will feature performances from Foreigner, Paul Rodgers, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts and, most notably, a reunited Led Zeppelin. There's no word on when the DVD will hit shelves.

Hey everyone , it's nice to be back home , although the jet lag and burn out from a week of partying and no sleep has worn me down somewhat.
The whole trip and show was nothing short of miraculous.
Front row at the show , seeing the rehearsal and then shaking Jimmy's hand was something I could only have dreamt off.
I have to say that being whisked off to the BBC studio's for a full day of television interviews while on two days with no sleep and a belly full of beer was quite the time ------- lol. We did our best.
Here's a clip from the front row ......

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/148011/vanishing-led-zeppelin-mystery-solved.html Vanishing Led Zeppelin mystery solved 1:31PM, Friday 14th December 2007
The mystery of Led Zeppelin video clips vanishing from YouTube has been solved. No sooner had the rock giants' comeback gigs at London's O2 Arena, aka The Dome, ended this week than the clips started appearing.
But just as quickly YouTube's owner Google started removing them and displaying their well-known red takedown boxes.
That is not unusual. Except in this case none of the copyright holders who might have requested this action actually had done so. Google said Warner Music Group was responsible, which would make sense as it owns the rights to the band's songs. But Warner had not sent the takedown requests, nor it seemed had the band, nor any of the other miscellaneous parties with a stake in the concerts, such as the venue's owner, O2 or the promoter.
Finally a New York company confessed. GrayZone monitors copyright violations on behalf of media companies, but on this occasion it had been a little over zealous.
"Grayzone regrets that it erroneously issued takedown notices to YouTube regarding footage of Led Zeppelin's December 10th concert," the company said in a statement. "We acted without authorization from the band or Warner Music Group."
Grayzone's Dorothy Sherman said that the company had removed around 300 clips before it realized its mistake. An easy one to make, it would seem, as the company currently has a list of 17,000 songs to be on the look out for.
Unbelievably incompetent!
