Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round Schedule Scenarios
Games begin Wednesday, April 11
The National Hockey League today announced two scenarios for the dates of the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round based on the outcome of tonight's Florida Panthers-Boston Bruins game at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Bruins (50-19-12, 112 points) sit one point back of the Tampa Bay Lightning (54-23-5, 113 points) for the top spot in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference. Boston will clinch first place with a win of any kind, while Tampa Bay will claim the title if Boston loses in any fashion.
The 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin on Wednesday, April 11. National broadcast information will be announced when available. All times are ET and subject to change.

Penguins, Golden Knights eye history
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Vegas Golden Knights will be looking to make history when the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday.
The Penguins, who are trying to become the first team to win three straight Stanley Cup championships since the New York Islanders from 1980-83, will host the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round at PPG Paints Arena (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports). The Golden Knights, who are looking to win the Cup in their inaugural season, play their first playoff game against the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports).
